Happy New Year!

I hope it is a year filled with joy for you and yours. To my family and my friends, I love you and look forward to new memories with you in 2023. I’m happy to put 2022 in the rearview mirror and looking forward to the year ahead.

Happy New Year’s Day

January 1st has been a good, and wonderfully relaxed, start to 2020 for us.  The fireworks at the Redwood Meadows community sports field last night did a great job of ushering in the new year.  All the best to you and yours in this new year.

The fireworks were great.  Thank you to the people involved in the evening’s light show.

Happy New Year’s Eve!

We are two hours away from 2018 here in Alberta.  I hope you are enjoying a great last night of 2017.  Our Redwood Meadows community had a great fireworks display to closeout the year.  This image was shot at the start of the show tonight.

Happy New Year!

From our family to yours, we wish you joy and love throughout the year.

I’m excited about new opportunities, new encounters and new photographs in 2016.  I hope this year brings more of what is important to you and yours.

Happy New Year!

New Year’s Eve Eagles

A pair of Bald eagles were drawn to Redwood Meadows today.  My daughter and I spotted them flying overhead when we were on our way to grab an ice cream cone in Bragg Creek.  We stopped going there and again on the way back.  They were drawn by a deer that had died near the golf course.  Ravens were on the ground while the eagles bided their time above in the nearby trees.

Folk Tree for New Year’s Eve

We were invited by Alvise and Paola to enjoy New Year’s Eve at their home on a corner of their Folk Tree Lodge property last night.  Very glad that we took them up on the invitation as we joined a small, wonderful group of people for a delicious potluck dinner, skating on a pond with a bonfire in the middle and a steady stream of good conversations.

Paola and Alvise have a very beautiful property just west of Bragg Creek in Priddis and it looked amazing as I wandered the path between the house and the pond.  I had to take a few photographs away from the evening.

Thank you to our hosts and the other guests for ending last year on a great note.  For those of you who might be looking for a retreat in the Bragg Creek area on the edge of Kananaskis Country in Alberta, Folk Tree is a special place run by a very special family.
