A member of the ground crew at the Calgary International Airport does the critical work of de-icing the airplane during a cold sunrise well below freezing in Alberta, Canada.

The first time I flew out of Calgary was in conditions such as this. I am a nervous flyer and took comfort in the fact that the delay was due to the airline taking safety measures therefore we would have a good flight and we did.

If it is cold enough to need de-icing, it is too cold 🙂 I used to work with a water dept. and winter time breaks were the worst. Water spraying all over you and freezing into a sheet of ice, ice on your tools, not to mention the effects of being wet and in the cold. I feel for the guy in your image.
