A Floating Pink Flower Landscape

These brilliant pink flowers caught the sun on a small lake in Kananaskis while I was waiting for the heron to leave its perch to fish. The water suggested an Impressionist painting while the detail in the flowers provided sharp contrast to the dark pastels.

I have never seen tiny flowers like that in the water. Are they lily buds? The watery background is just stunning. It almost looks like it its reflecting fall colors.

Hi Sandy,
I’m not sure what kind of flowers these are. They were floating in the deepest part of the lake, probably 40′ deep. I agree they could be lily buds but I haven’t hunted them down online to verify.
