Autumn bunny in the park

I walked around Prince’s Island Park in the late afternoon sun last week for a little while. This bunny rabbit ran around the edge of the forest across the pond a couple of times while I was by the water.

Her coat looked to be preparing for winter – even if I am far from it. It was nice to watch the golden leaves fall, a few birds and this little bunny in the warm sunlight. I enjoyed watching this little nature scene – especially right on the edge of Calgary’s downtown core.

One of Easter’s Bunnies

It was a good morning around our house today.  The Easter Bunny came in the night and the kids sleuthed out the hidden eggs in speedy fashion.  Bobbi and I got to have a bit of a sleep-in too so all parties were happy.  I hope your Easter morning, whether a celebration of your beliefs, a fun event for your kids or just a regular Sunday, was a good start to the day.

This isn’t the Easter Bunny, he’s a backyard friend who lives under our deck during the winters.  He was pure white until the last couple of weeks where the coat has started to darken.  It looks a bit like he’s been playing in the mud but it will help him blend in as the snow melts.

Happy Chinese New Year!

新年快樂 (xīn nián kuài lè) – Happy New Year!

The tiger passes the new year to the rabbit.  All the best to everyone in this Chinese New Year!  In particular my good friends from my years in Taiwan – I think of you often and miss the island and her people.

I was lucky enough to enjoy a lion dance performed by the Jing Wo Martial Arts & Athletics Association of Canada.  They performed brilliantly, it was great fun to watch.  I hope to see them again soon.

Here are a couple images of the lions dancing.
