Mule deer in the backyard

A young doe sauntered out of the forest and into our backyard this morning. She was in no hurry to pass through as she found a few flowers around our deck that were still available.

We have a small herd of mule deer that stay close to the community year round. It’s always great to see one of the family come around for a visit – even if they always dine and dash.

Wonderful photos all around! I too came via Val’s blogpost.
I do think your deer hear/listen–as do all living things.

Hi Eva,
Thank you for visiting. You’re right, all things listen, it’s nice when we choose to do the same.
I love the artwork you share on your blog.
Om Shanti,
Chris

Thank you for your kind words about my art. Glad you enjoy it. Yes, it can be a two way ‘street’ regarding the communicating with the rest of nature. We just need to make the effort to become aware. Namaste

Hi Chris, I came here after reading about your blog on Val’s blog! Amazing photos, but I zeroed in on this post because I love deer. These photos are beautiful! We have white-tailed deer here in Connecticut and see them frequently in our yards. You’ve captured these mule deer in some wonderful poses. I’ve never done this before and am not sure how it works, but I wonder if I might re-blog this post?

Hi Barbara,
Thanks for touring around the blog. These deer are neighbours, living year round in our community so they are very special. This one was born in the woods near the town and is absolutely beautiful.
I love the details you include in the posts on your blog. I now understand your connection with deer. In this part of the world, we have a lot of whitetails and mules. They are not hard to find in the fields, on the trails, in my backyard so we’re very lucky. I always love to see them and often end up talking to them while I’m photographing them. Crazy I suppose but who knows, maybe they’re listening!
I’m honoured that you would like to re-blog and appreciate that you checked in first. By all means post it again if you would like to.

What a pretty animal! You’ve so much wildlife there that I’ve never seen here as I’m in the UK, so it’s a double pleasure being able to come and look at your photographs. Add to that, that you’re such a brill photographer… it’s so nice to visit your blog.
🙂
