Beauty in an early snowfall
I’ve been hunting for images of the autumn that has been hurriedly ushered in. Here is one from the day of the first snowfall last week. I was east of my home in Redwood Meadows and found this wonderfully coloured stand of trees. The snow continued on for much of the day and I looked for more scenes like this.

Utterly glorious…my first thought …what a good eye you have…as someone has mentioned, it’s almost Impressionistic…I’d love to have a large copy for my home…since moving away from lower BC I have come to appreciate winter, and I LOVE this image.

Exquisite. Early snow on larch or evergreens is familiar, but this is a sort of scene I don’t remember seeing. I was going to say it reminds me of the Impressionists, but that’s not quite it. A Pointillist master, perhaps.

Enchanting photo! Such early snow. You mentioned Redwood Meadows, so it’s Alberta, correct? Wow, such early snow but is that normal?

Hi! Yes – Alberta. Redwood Meadows is a rural community about a 20 minute drive west of Calgary. Every year or two we get a blast of snow for a couple of days in September or early October. Normal is a dusting before the end of October and then snow that sticks around usually in mid to late November.
