Mountain lines above the Chain Lakes
During the road trip home after a quick trip to the Kootenays my dad and I stopped to enjoy this view of the hills, valleys and mountains on the eastern flank of the Rockies above the Chain Lakes.

We flatlanders admire and envy views like this. I’ve been through the Ouachita mountains in Arkansas twice in the past four years, and hoped for such views, but the first time I got fog, and the second time there was blinding rain and then haze. Maybe third time will be a charm. Until then, I’ll just keep enjoying your photos.

Both of those sound good too! Well the haze on the second visit not so much the blinding rain! I hope third time is the charm.

this is lovely…strongly reminds me of a painting of the BC coastline…with mist-like, ever receding hills that seem to promise they go on to infinity…no wonder you had to take that image…………..P. Grover.

I love these kind of views and this moment had me hitting the brakes. The work of many wonderfully talented painters capturing the lines in the landscape marching into infinity have always drawn me.
