Geese on the wing

Geese in flight - © Christopher Martin-7189

This pair of Canada geese flew over our deck in Redwood Meadows.  These birds are migrating all across North America now and we are certainly getting our share.  With the overcast sky, the even light showcased the beautiful textures and tones in the wings.

  2. This is such a fantastic shot ~ the perspective, almost at eye level along with the crisp/sharp focus, a beautiful example of wilderness photography at its finest.

    And the warriors of winter
    Gave a cold triumphant shout
    All that stays is dying
All that lives is getting out
You see the geese in chevron flight
    Flapping and racing on
    Before the snow
They got the urge for going
And they got the wings to go.

    • Wow – thank you Sally. That is really beautiful. I’m a fan of MCC but didn’t know this verse.
