Snowstorm through the trees

A heavy blizzard blew through southern Alberta on Sunday. The snow fell throughout the day with the wind keeping pace alongside. The trees on the edge of Kananaskis Country caught pieces of the storm and twirled the snow around the branches in the evergreens.

This looks like a pencil sketch, quite beautiful. We’ve had blizzard conditions in the UK this week; seeing your photo I really ought to have braved the wind chill and got out there… or maybe not!

This is an intriguing and lovely shot. Was it this heavy as it was falling ? I saw rkb’s comment about it looking like an impressionist painting and I thought the same when I first looked at it.

Beautiful shot. I grew up in Ohio but live in Louisiana so snow is just a memory for me.

Wow. I would not want to be stuck in that weather, but you really capture the beauty in nature’s harshness.
